GETTING INVOLVED

ACTIVITIES

Beside the weekly peer-support group meetings, we have extra activities like car washes, 
picnics, movie nights, etc.  We participate in the annual events like the Gay Pride Parade in 
October and go to GayDays at Walt Disney World the first Saturday in June and the AIDS 
Walk Orlando in April.  Some of the activities cost money.  The car washes are a great way for 
everyone to get involve.  Plus they generate money for us to help cover the costs.

PROACTIVE
 
The single most important issue for this group is to be pro-active in the community, a 
schedule of events where OYA as a group can participate in events for other organizations 
not only reinforces that this organization is pro-active, but gives us an opportunity to touch 
new people and members.

COST
 
There is no cost to being a member of OYA, through fundraisers, corporate donations, and 
events, OYA raises funds for general operating costs, marketing, and events.
 

The ideas are endless.  Here are a few of the activities we have done in the past:
